Flight 93 National Memorial
Stoystown, PA 15563
The Flight 93 National Memorial is located at the crash site of the United Airlines Flight 93 that was hijacked on September 11, 2001. The memorial was made to honor the courageous passengers and crew who stopped the hijackers from reaching their target.
The Memorial Plaza extends one quarter of a mile along the crash site of Flight 93. Located underneath the flight path is the Wall of Names which is constructed of white marble. There are 40 marble stones inscribed with each passenger and crew member.
In 2020, the Tower of Voices was completed as a dedication to each victim of Flight 93. The tower stands 93 feet tall and contains 40 wind chimes. There is no other chime system like this in the world. In peak season, the tower prominently stands tall amongst wildflowers throughout the park.
The Visitor Center features an exhibition that tells the story of Flight 93 and its heroic passengers and crew members through artifacts, multi-media, and interactive exhibits.
