Sandyvale Memorial Gardens and Conservancy and Dog Park
Johnstown, PA 15902
Anchored by a combined greenhouse and conservatory, indoor and outdoor classroom areas, an open-air performance venue, and a fenced-in dog park, the Garden celebrates the passion and foresight of those who were once buried here – young heroes of the American Revolution and the Civil War, abolitionists who led freedom seekers through the Underground Railroad, veterans from eight conflicts, determined pioneers who settled 18th century Johnstown, founding fathers and first families and the generations of immigrants who followed to fuel the nation’s industrial revolution.
Sandyvale’s large open expanse of lawns has historically been used as a recreational facility. During the spring, summer, and fall months, Sandyvale offers educational seminars held in a working greenhouse, student field trips, historic site tours, a greenhouse hydroponic growing system, community gardens, concerts, veteran’s monuments, a healing garden, a trail system with exercise equipment, and other related events.
Sandyvale hosts a premier wine-pairing dinner and wine festival each year on the first weekend after Labor Day. The outdoor venue features many Pennsylvania wineries, distilleries, cideries, meadery and spirits, a variety of craft vendors, food, and live music.
Sandyvale’s 18 acres of riverfront property affords many exciting recreational opportunities. For updates on events or more information about activities Sandyvale offers or to contact us go to:
